Become a Host Family

BECOME A HOST FAMILY

Thank you for your interest in hosting an international student through the CM Catholic Exchange Program. By opening your heart and home, you will give an exceptional young person an experience of a lifetime – to live with an American Catholic host family and experience the language, customs, culture and faith life of your country.

CM Exchange is a unique exchange program that links the Byzantine Catholic Metropolitan Church of Pittsburgh with Central Europe. More specifically, we cooperate with the Byzantine Catholic Archeparchy of Pittsburgh, the Byzantine Catholic Eparchy of Parma and the Byzantine Catholic Eparchy of Passaic.

We invite American families which live close to a parish community of one of the mentioned eparchies and have a high school in the vicinity of their home to participate in the mission of our program to build a civilization of love by inviting into their homes high school students from Slovakia. This is a great opportunity to learn about other cultures, customs and faith of people who live in different parts of the world.

CM invites highly qualified Catholic students, to spend an academic year in the U.S. Catholic high schools. As a host family, your responsibilities would include providing room and board for your student, accepting him/her as a member of your family (not a guest) by including him/her in your daily life and routines and supporting him/her in achieving the objectives of our program. CM is, by design, a small program so that careful attention can be given to students and host families. Throughout the year, CM spiritual director will be in regular contact with you and your student to provide any support either or both of you might need. We are always here for you.

We look forward to hearing from you and your family.
